Dashing through the snow...

Here are a few shots from sledding early this morning! It was pretty chilly & just snowing teeny-tiny flakes (if you could even call them flakes) then...now, it's snowing (still) great, big Christmas flakes! Eden loves sledding & Samson loves the snow. You can also go to our FaceBook page & see the cool slide shows we made with the other pictures! Love to all!

Snow & "Big Bell"

So I didn't quite get a chance to take snap shots of the ice...but it is supposed to snow 4-6 inches tonight...which means SLEDDING tomorrow!!!!!! I'll try to grab some shots then. I did, however, capture a couple of cute shots of "Big Bell" (other wise known and loved as "Girl" the cat) and Eden. I removed her big bell collar yesterday and she's pretty happy...who's she kidding!? She's happy she's not frozen to the outside of our house!

Ice, Ice Baby

"Oh the weather outside is frightful..." Well, we still have power; that's the good news. I'll try to get some pictures posted today...It's been raining for 24 hours straight...and we have snow on the ground! Shouldn't it be snowing? It's pretty 'weird' weather right now. I've never seen or heard of it RAINING in the winter! Sleet, snow, yes...RAIN; huh? Can you say cabin fever? Eden and I are testing our creativity. We made a "pirate ship" out of a Velveeta box & construction paper this morning.

Here kitty, kitty, kitty

So, we have a new cat. I guess. A few weeks ago, this beautiful little black and gold tiger striped cat shows up at our front door. Well, being the animal lover that I am (a.k.a. "sucker"), I gave her a little bit of Samson's food every few days. This past week, it has iced, sleeted, snowed, and been in the teens. I managed to 'talk' kitty into the garage & into a crate I had over night. There she stayed for the last few nights...and we'd let her back out into the cold during the day. Yesterday, I noticed (as I was 'loving on her'...she's VERY lovey) that she's been declawed. Chances are, someone dumped her. Long story short, Jason agreed that the cat could stay as long as I cleaned up after it. Deal! I took her to the vet this morning because I surely didn't want a 'sickly' kitty running around our house! She was examined, wormed, vaccinated, and then I mentioned the 'lump' in her tail. Come to find out it was an abscess that would require SURGERY!!!!!! That doesn't sound expensive at all (Jason and I are really 'cracking' down on our budget & "cat" is not budgeted anywhere, by the way). What could I do. I left here there to be fixed. Eden was sad b/c she thought the cat was never coming back to our house, I called Jason to tell him it would be $200 +, he said "leave the cat there..." Talk about chaos! I called the vet slobbering, snotting, and crying...all I wanted was to give this little kitty a home & not leave her to freeze to death! So, "Dr. Rob" basically said he'd do the surgery for free & all I'd have to pay for were the vaccinations & wormer! Praise God! (as I'd been praying on the trip to the vet it wouldn't be expensive & that the vet would be compassionate). So, "kitty" (for now) is in the garage, a bandage around her tail, a big bell collar around her neck, and making a ruckus because she wants in...but, she's ours.
